Emerald cut

The emerald cut is a step cut. These cuts are characterized by their elongated, parallel facets. Their look reminds of steps – thus the name step cut.

In contrast to brilliant cuts, step cuts HIGHLIGHT RATHER THE PURITY OF A GEMSTONE than its fire and brilliance. As the name suggests, this cut was originally mainly used for emerald gemstones.
